The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Detroit Lions 47-7 today. The win gives the Buccaneers their first playoff berth since 2007. The Buccaneers got contributions from all phases and looked excellent. The team is starting to gain momentum at the right time.

Tom Brady was magnificent today, and he looked like his prime self. Brady completed 22/27 passes for 348 yards with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. Brady also had a passer rating of 158.3, which is the highest passer rating a quarterback can have in a game.

After a poor first drive, Brady responded with the deep ball as he hit Rob Gronkowski and Mike Evans for deep touchdowns. Brady was excellent at throwing the ball down the field, and it opened up the offense for the Buccaneers. When Brady can stretch the defense with the deep ball, the defense is left helpless because the Buccaneers can beat you in other ways.

Brady is starting to hit his stride in this offense as they are clicking on all cylinders. The Buccaneers offense was going down the field with ease, and Brady was picking the defense apart. Brady’s performance was amazing in the fact that he did it all in the first half.

To put Brady’s performance into perspective, his first half was the second time since 1991 that a player had 340 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in a single half. The other player was Tom Brady in 2009 against the Titans. Also, the last time Brady has this stat line in a half was when he was 34, which shows that he not declining one bit at age 43.

Brady’s impact on the Buccaneers has been important this year as he has led them to their first playoff appearance since 2007. Brady has also set the franchise record for most touchdowns in a season with 36. This is what happens when you sign the greatest player of all-time, he will bring you back to relevance.

The Buccaneers are getting hot at the right time, and they are going to be a scary opponent in the playoffs. The Buccaneers will return home to Tampa to play the Atlanta Falcons on January 3 at 1 pm.
